Contribute to our Aboriginal Women's Hub

Aboriginal women and children have had so much stolen.
Stolen land. Stolen kids. Stolen Story. Stolen Spirit.

Solidarity with our women can change this story.

‘I want to be free. I want you to be free. And you aren’t free until I am. Spend your privilege, and just when you think you’ve spent enough, spend some more.’ (Nia Wilson, Spend your privilege)

In the lead up to Invasion Day, one way to show your solidarity is to help us build a healing space for Aboriginal women and children.

Here's some of our suggested sponsorship options:

  • $50 – Kitchen items for cooking for a family or cooking classes. A drop in space with a fully stocked kitchen can help any mum put a meal on the table.

  • $100 – For sand and stones in the natural kids play area. Using natural materials to let little imaginations soar.

  • $200 – Plants for our native sensory garden. Using nature as a healer with a selection of aromatic, tactile and bush tucker plants.

  • $1000 – Help create a welcoming front space. A redeveloped front garden, wall and façade using recycled wood paneling to create a first impression of safety and home.

  • $5000 – Set up a bedroom for a safe place to land

  • $10,000 – Skills development program. Contribute to the funding of a yearly program of workshops that build skills like running your business.

  • $30,000 – Bathroom refurbishment. Redevelop the 80s bathroom into an accessible space to grab a shower in safety.

I don't believe in charity. I believe in solidarity. Charity is so vertical. It goes from the top to the bottom. Solidarity is horizontal. It respects the other person. I have a lot to learn from other people.’ Eduardo Galeano

As Murri woman Lilla Watson says: “If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.”
